Our mission is to break barriers and offer a welcoming environment for those who may not feel comfortable in larger gyms.

Q2: Where is Inclusive Fitness Hastings located? A: We are located at 115 King Street South, Hastings, opposite Farmers. Please visit our contact page for more details and directions.

Q3: What are your operating hours? A: Our gym operates from 9 AM to 7 PM most days of the week. Please refer to our schedule for open hours.

Q7: Can beginners join your classes? A: Absolutely! We welcome individuals of all fitness levels, from complete beginners to those with more experience. Our instructors customize the training to meet each individual’s unique needs and abilities.

Q8: How can I enroll in a class? A: Enrolling in our classes is easy! Simply visit our website and click on the “Apply Online” link located in the top bar menu. Fill out the registration form, and we will get in touch with you to confirm your enrollment. Alternatively, you can visit us in person to enroll.

A: Yes, we provide various resources and guides for adaptive fitness training, focusing on elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and mental health support. Our founder, Ben Evans, has authored several guides to assist instructors and participants.

Q13: Can I buy fitness equipment from you? A: We can certainly point you in the right direction, please feel free to ask! If there is a specific machine you wanted to use which we don’t currently have, we are always happy to source this and get it in for you and our communities benefit!

Awards and Recognition

Q14: Has Inclusive Fitness Hastings received any awards or recognition? A: Yes, we are proud to be finalists in the Hastings Business City Association NZME Social Impact of the Year award 2024. This recognition highlights our commitment to making a positive difference in the community through inclusive fitness programs. The final result is to come out 29 August 2024.

Case-by-Case Basis Support

Q: Do you provide personalized support for individuals?
A: Yes, we offer personalized support on a case-by-case basis to ensure that each individual’s unique needs are met. We strive to create tailored fitness training plans to accommodate everyone. Our founder, Ben Evans, holds an NZQA Level 3 qualification in Fitness (Exercise Consultant). While he had the opportunity to pursue the Level 4 qualification, which includes business management aspects of gym operations, he chose to focus on his extensive background in establishing Taekwon-Do programs for individuals with disabilities. Ben plans to pursue the Level 4 qualification at a later stage to further enhance his expertise.

Q17: Who supports the gym and how is it completely FREE? A: Our Inclusive Fitness Gym is attached to our NZ Registered Charity Special Needs Taekwon-Do Federation of New Zealand Charitable Trust and holds a unique partnership with Hastings District Masonic Trust and others who have contributed to supporting our gym to become set up. PUB Charity, Hastings District Council, Flex Fitness Equipment, Ahuriri Sunrise Rotary Club, Hawkes Bay ITF, Atlas Fibrous Plaster Co. Ltd, Complete Paint, First Light Foundation, Speedy Signs Hastings contributed towards the overall success of the gym. We continue to provide this excellent facility completely FREE of charge because of past or current support.
